About Us

At 126 E. Vine Street, the Elks Lodge #1395 has been a fixture of Owatonna, Minnesota long enough that some members' grandparents signed the same membership rolls. Walk in on a weekday afternoon and you're likely to find Michele behind the bar, the kind of server who remembers your drink, asks about your family, and genuinely means it when she says hello. Members come back not out of habit but because of people like her.

The Lodge hosts everything from baptism receptions to community fundraisers, and the banquet space has seen its share of milestone moments. With a 4.4-star rating across dozens of reviews, the consensus is clear: the people here make the place. Members are candid, too, which is a sign of real investment. When the food lineup needs a refresh, regulars say so and expect the Lodge to listen.

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks was founded in 1868, and Lodge #1395 carries that national mission at a local scale: supporting veterans, funding youth scholarships, and showing up when Owatonna needs it. This is not a country club. It is a working fraternal organization with a bar, a kitchen, and a genuine commitment to the community it serves.

What We Offer

The Lodge offers full banquet rental for private events, making it a practical and affordable venue for family celebrations, business gatherings, and milestone parties. The room has hosted baptisms, retirements, and everything in between, with staff who treat your guests like regulars from the moment they walk in.

Dining is available for members during posted hours, with rotating weekly menus and daily specials. The full-service bar is open most afternoons and evenings, staffed by the kind of people who know the difference between a regular and a first-timer and make both feel at home.

Beyond the building, Elks #1395 actively funds veterans' programs, youth activities, and local charitable initiatives through the national Elks National Foundation. Membership opens the door to a nationwide network of over 2,000 lodges, reciprocal visiting privileges, and a community that actually does things together rather than just meeting once a year.

"I am a long time member of the club. I am not happy with meals, and I know many people are not either. We don't need winter meals in the summer. How about a salad and grilled chick??I'm not going to order those huge meals anymore. If you're going to keep going, you are going to have to figure this out. You are losing lots of customers. I've been supporting you for years, and hope u can do better."

A Proud Heritage

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
